Giveaway Monday!

It’s Monday.  Everyone’s favorite day of the week…NOT!  So to brighten everyone’s day up we decided to have a giveaway.  First, I would like to welcome any new visitors that might be dropping by from Connie’s blog, Quilting by the River.  Connie is so talented!  And she has quickly become a blogging friend of ours!
Before I reveal the prize I thought I would share a couple pictures of the quilt I finished last week.  I quilted this one for a friend of the family.  This was her first quilt ever and she made a king size!  This bad boy measures in at 90″ x 105″ but it looks great!  I’m very happy with the final result.  I hope she loves it too.
This quilt is so big I can’t even get the whole thing in the picture.  And I have to apologize for the crappy lighting but it’s been raining like crazy around here.  Not that it would fit on my clothesline anyway.  It would drag the ground like crazy!
Here’s a couple close ups of the quilting…
Ok Ok, I know you’re all ready to find out what we’re giving away.  We’ve decided to send one lucky follower the Easy Dresden Ruler and a companion pattern.
You can check out our Saturday post where Sunni from Love Affair with my Brother demonstrates this lovely ruler.  She made an adorable kitchen towel.
So let’s get to it and give this ruler & pattern away!

  1. Being a newbie to the quilting world, my favorite pattern would be anything simple, LOL.

I am doing a sampler quilt that has the dresden pattern in 1 block. This would make that so much easier than making my own template.

  2. I swear, my favorite pattern is the one I just found. Every pattern is my new favorite! I’ve done lots of non traditional log cabins and disappearing nine patch patterns, I love stars (love that quilt BTW, fun and bright and looks so inviting.)so I can’t decide. Plus it’s Monday, who knows what I’ll like tomorrow! Thanks for the giveaway. So fun.

  3. I really like the kitchen towel that made with the dresdan plate block. My favorite pattern is a nine-patch, I find it to be very versatile. Thanks for a chance.

  4. Lovely Star Quilt! It will look great on that king size bed. My favorite pattern right now is the Grandmother’s Flower garden. There are so many variations I love them all!

  5. I am a follower! And my favorite pattern is the one you used for your quilt! I made the same pattern using flannels for a cuddle quilt. Love it!

  6. I haven’t been quilting but about a year so there are many patterns I have yet to know about. Soon I’ll be making a log cabin, so I’m excited about that!

  7. I am a new follower of your blog and Pinterest! Take a look at mine while checking it out! I love the star quilt you just quilted. That is a monster size quilt. You are a good friend to quilt a king size for a friend. I am preparing to do a King size quilt myself. I will be taking it to church (sanctuary floor) to safety pin baste it so I can free motion quilt it on my domestic machine. I need a large space to lay it out for pin basting. My favorite pattern – oh my there are too many to name. I just love challenging myself on new quilting techniques. I have a fondness for stars. I can’t wait to make a pattern that was gifted to me, a Jinny Beyer Mariner’s Star – Paper Pieced quilt.

  9. I’ve followed Quilting by the River for a while and just found your blog through Connie. The Dresden Plate is on my bucket list of quilts to make so hope I am lucky enough to win the ruler and pattern. Thanks, Marilyn

  10. I found your blog via Connie’s blog. Now I am following you. Nice blog.
I don’t really have a favorite pattern, but am curretnly having a love-affair with Strings! Does that count? Thanks for opportunity to enter your give-a-way.

  11. I do love the Dresden pattern and surely want to make one. I have seen “parts” of dresden used in such pretty ways. I made butterfly wings with dresden pieces, and have seen the Sun Bonnet dress with dresden pieces.
I can’t pick just one pattern though 🙁 sorry – I do love so many and have so many on my “to do” list. Dresden is on that list too.
Thank you for the chance to win.
I am a follower of your blog.

  12. I hope you have me as a follower. I was sent here by Quilting on the River. I’ve done the following: clicked on Google Friend Connect [even though I understand that it no longer works, signed up for your newsletter, added Quilting Lodge to my Google Reader blogs, and followed using Networked Blogs. I read your beginner tut on “Squaring up your block” and enjoyed the info you provided me with.
I can’t say I really have a favorite pattern though I’m fascinated by the dresden plate. That was a great idea Sunni had – to use just a portion of the plate to add to her towels. Thanks for your giveaway.

  13. I follow you on pinterest. My favorite pattern is pin wheel. I have only made one quilt using that pattern but it was fun to work on and looked great when it was finished.

  14. Being a newbie quilter I haven’t done many patterns yet. So, I’ll say the coin quilt pattern is my favorite, till I get a few more quilts made. 🙂

  15. I am a follower and my favorite block pattern would be the log cabin ,simple but very effective. Thanks for the chance at your great giveaway .

  16. I love Sunbonnet Sue– so she is probably my favorite pattern.. But, I lately have been loving quilts that use applique over a simple pieced block– so that is right up there near the top of favorites! Maybe a Sunbonnet Sue on a nine patch?! 🙂 Thank you so much for the chance to win!! I LOVE dresden plates too!! 🙂
