Blogger’s Quilt Festival – Owlene

It’s that time of year again.  Amy from Amy’s Creative Side, is hosting the Blogger’s Quilt Festival.  If this is your first time visiting my blog, welcome!  I hope you will have a look around and maybe even come back sometime.

I’ve decided to enter Owlene in the small quilt category.  Owlene is my version of a whole cloth quilt and she is a 36″ square.  I used Michael Miller White solid for the front and a Moda batik on the back.  My thread of choice was Superior Threads So Fine #50 and I used a double layer of batting, one cotton and one 80/20 cotton-poly blend.   All the quilting is freehand and done on Roscoe {my Gammill}.  I hope you enjoy all the pictures of Owlene.

Make sure you click on the button below to see all the awesome quilts that have been entered.  And Owlene wouldn’t object to being nominated as a favorite.  Shameless begging…I know.

Now I’m going to go to bed and try to stop thinking about Spring Quilt Market and how I wish I was there.  Sigh.

  1. I do so love this one! The quilting is beyond amazing. I love how subtle it is on the front and how bold it is against that pink on the back.

    Absolutely gorgeous.
