Some Days Are Just Plain Unfair

I have a heavy heart tonight.  My beloved Grandmother got her wings today at 5:30.  I’m extremely sad that I wasn’t able to give her a hug and kiss one more time before she moved on to bigger and better things.  I sure will miss her.  But I do know that she is much better and no longer in pain.  She was a blessing in my life and I will miss her dearly.  My love of sewing stems from her love of sewing.  She taught my mom everything she knows.  She was and is an exceptional lady.

In honor of Granny I want to show a couple sneak peeks of my current project.  For without Granny’s love of sewing, my mom never would have learned and neither would I.

Please say some prayers for my mom.  This is going to be a tough time for her and I’m not able to be there with her at the moment.  I’m hoping the weather isn’t as bad as expected and I’ll be able to travel home for the services.

  1. Prayers all around during this sad time. A grandmother’s love is such a cherished gift–you’ll carry that with you forever. She sounds like a very special person.

  2. You know you & your mom are in my prayers and in my heart tonight (and always). Sending much love.

P.S. Your quilting is amazing and everyone at my guild loved what you did with my quilt.

  3. Oh, Vicki, my heart goes out to you and your family during this time of loss. I hope you get to go to the services to say your final goodbyes. Sometimes for different folks that is helpful. Many prayers going up to the big guy for your family during this time.

  4. Hi vicki,
I am so sorry for your loss and your family members are in my prayers. I know how hard it is to lose someone who was such a big part of your life. My daughter, an only child died in my arms from a blood clot. I pray you will to go to the services. Be safe. Barbara

We miss those that are no longer with us very much, but are glad that they came our way. Heaven has a new star.

  7. My prayers are with you and your mom, and all those who loved your grandmother. I hope you are able to go for the service – I imagine all of you need a time together to talk about her and laugh about the good times and funny things. It’s very healing. I really like your quilted flowers on the top block, but all your quilting is wonderful. Quilting through sorrow is an age-old tradition.
