It’s Time for a Swap!

Well I guess I should start by saying I am alive.  This summer has been plagued with injuries for my entire family.  It started with my son’s broken arm, then my trip to the ER for my back, then my husband made a trip to the ER for a soccer injury.  All of that was in a 10 day time period.  Whew!  Talk about some bad luck.

I haven’t been blogging because I haven’t been able to sew or quilt.  Turns out I’m having surgery today around noon to fix another bad disc.  Recovery time should be pretty fast, maybe a couple weeks.  I hope to be quilting again soon.

Before I head to bed and try to sleep I want to make sure you all know about a fun coaster swap Michele over at Quilting Gallery is hosting.  I was so honored when she asked me to design the coasters.

I wanted to design something fun so I settled on reversible coasters.  One side has a cute appliqued creature and the other is a pieced mini quilt block.

Just for fun, I’ve included instructions for 8 variations for the pieced side.  Make sure you hop over to Michele’s blog and check out all the details.  There is a $5.00 fee that covers the administration aspect of the swap (this fee will be split between myself and Michele).

Registration for the swap is open until July 24th.  Make sure you don’t miss out on this fun event.

Please let me know if you have any questions about the swap.  I might be a little slow in responding to emails but I will get back to you as soon as possible.

Have a great Thursday everyone!  I’m looking forward to a pain free weekend.

  1. Oh Vicki, first of all, speedy recovery! That is quite a series of unfortunate events your family is having. Secondly, love those colorful coasters. You are so talented. And third, well, check your email 🙂

  2. I am so sorry for your illnesses, bur mostly your surgery. Being a nurse, back surgeries are not fun and recovery should be slow, so take care of yourself. I will be keeping you in my prayers.

  3. Love the coasters, Vicki. They are adorable.
Sorry to hear about all the problems happening in your family. Will pray that everyone has a speedy recovery. Take care. Hugs!
