Spring Fling Blog Hop ~ Little Bird House

About a week ago I shared a little peek of my latest designing adventure.  Well, today is finally the day I get to share my block!  It’s my turn on the Spring Fling Blog Hop hosted by Soma over at Whims and Fancies.

It took me about 3 months to come up with an idea.  After a lot of googling and looking at spring themed clipart, I was pretty sure I could design a bird house.  Wanna see?

And a close up of the shingles.  I think they’re my favorite feature!

You can download a copy of my Little Bird House Pattern and make one of your own.  My pattern doesn’t include the general instructions on how to paper piece.  You will have to know the basics of paper piecing if you decide to make one.  Don’t let the shingles scare you away from making one.  They really weren’t that bad.

I hope you enjoyed my Little Bird House.  I’m pretty proud of this one because it was a bit of a struggle for me.

Come back tomorrow for part three of the Texas Teardrops Quilt Along.  We’ll be talking about cutting out teardrops.  Don’t be scurred!

  1. Well, you did scare me a bit with those shingles! But now that I look at the pattern I’m not quite so ‘scurred’ 🙂 Thank you for sharing. You put a lot of hard work in this. I’ve paper pieced before and do enjoy it.

  2. That is ADORABLE Vicki!! I think that would be the perfect project for me to do with my mother, who is arriving next week. Wouldn’t that make the most adorable Springtime mug rug?!
