February Goals & a Giveaway

Hello my cyber quilting buddies.  I know I’ve been MIA {missing in action} for a couple days but that’s because I’ve been working hard on a new pattern.  I also have a swirly Dresden paper piece pattern that I can finally share {tomorrow}.  I’m proud to say no computers were harmed in the process of developing the pattern {although it was a close call}.
Once again, I’m joining in the Lovely Year of Finishes because having goals and deadlines really helps me get things finished.  Thanks Melissa {Sew BitterSweet Designs} & Shanna {Fiber of All Sorts} for hosting this.  I’ve decided that since January was dedicated to finishing binding on all my tops that were quilted but not bound, February should be dedicated to quilting.  I originally wanted to quilt 4 tops this month, but seeing as it’s already Feb 6th I’m not sure I can pull that off.  I think getting 2 quilts quilted is reasonable.  I’m also planning on binding them as soon as they are quilted.  Gag.
Here’s a look at a couple of my options.  I’m not sure yet which 2 I’ll quilt.
This one’s probably out of the running.  It’s not finished yet.  Lots of applique still to be done.
I’m having a hard time deciding what I want to quilt next.  I hope I can figure it out fast so I can get started.  Maybe I’ll just close my eyes and point.
Are you wondering why I mentioned a giveaway in the title?  Did you think I would never get to that part?  I can be pretty long winded.  Enough stalling…my dear friend Connie over at Freemotion by the River is having a giveaway today that we are hosting.  Go check it out!  Connie is so talented.  I just love seeing all of her creations!

  14. Your quilts are beautiful. If they were mine I would also have a hard time deciding which one to finish first. I am back here from Connie’s blog but I actually have been following both of you for about a year.

  15. Hi Vicki,
I’m visiting from Connie’s blog [even tho i am a longtime follower of your blog, too. *g*] to say “Hi”.
Love the quilts you are sharing today. They are wonderful. Can’t wait to see how you quilt them.
    Hugs,
    Cyn; -)

  16. I love all your choices but if I was to make a suggestion, I’d do the blue and yellow next. It reminds me of spring and with the cold weather we are having and the snow storm on the way, thinking about spring is a good thing.

  17. Hi Vicki, I just popped over from Connie’s blog. Thanks for hosting the giveaway, and if those quilt tops were mine, I’d definitely be quilting the very first one first. That one really calls out to be finished, soon!

  18. Hi Vicki,

Stopping over thanks to Connie. Glad she suggested it because I’m crazy about that Dresden with interlocking knots quilt! Those colours are fabulous. I think my heart is wanting spring to come on over!

  19. Hi Vicki, Connie at Freemotion by the River sent me over for the giveaway! I discovered your blog a while back and follow you already by email. Love your work!

  20. Vicki, I’m really partial to the second and first quilts for you to quilt next. I just love the colors and the block design of the second one the most of all…can’t wait to see it/all of them finished.

  21. Hiya Vicki!!! Just came from Connie’s blog to say hi. I follow both of you, and you both do fabulous work. Whichever quilts you choose to work on will end up wonderful, I’m sure. Thanks for helping in the giveaway. Blessed be, hugs!!!

  22. Thanks for sending me to Connie’s site – love her quilting! I’m in the same situation you are…about 40 quilts I need to quilt and bind (oh how I hate that part). I have the folded over a quilt rack and just decided I’m working my way from the top to the bottom. Just put a new one on today and decided on most of the designs I’m quilting on it…even got the top two borders quilted!!

  23. Hi! I found you via Connie as well. I’m in the middle of quilting (I have a long arm) a scrappy quilt very much like the first one you show. But I LOVE your last one, the blue, yellow and green. I would quilt that next if I were you! Good luck at getting your quilting done.
