Welcome to the Dark Side

You might have noticed I never made it back to the blog yesterday.  We had a busy afternoon with parent teacher conferences for both kids.  The good news…both kids are doing great.  The bad news…some scumbag stole Hannah’s backpack this morning.  Needless to say they got her driving permit and military ID…UGH!  Why oh why are there such miserable people in this world???

Now you might be wondering about the title of this post.  This post is dedicated to my step sister, Kathy, otherwise known as Katherine Ann when it’s warranted.

She’s often referred to my mother and I as the “quilting geeks.”  Well guess who learned how to sew on Saturday????

Look at her go!  She’s using the same Pfaff I used when mom taught me!  It’s just 28 years later.

It makes me so happy to see my sister turning into a “quilting geek!”  Look at that straight line!  Way to go Katherine Ann.

She’s just so cute.  I don’t think I’ve ever seen a cuter quilting geek!

She even got to try out the zig zag.

And mom taught her how to use the rotary cutter.  Lookout people!  She’s got a sharp object!  {I love that her shirt matches the cutting mat}

All kidding aside…I’m super proud that she’s learning how to sew.  We’ve been trying to convert her for years!  I’m so glad she’s decided to join us on the dark side!

I just wish I could’ve been there to see it!  {sad face}  It’s times like this that I wish we lived closer to home.

One final food for thought…you all might remember the nightmare quilt Kathy thought mom and I could fix.  If not, you HAVE to check out the post.  Now Katherine Ann can FIX IT HERSELF!  She can zig zag that bad boy up in no time.  Funny, when I mentioned that to her she laughed!  Hmmm….she kept telling us it would be so easy to “just fix it.”  Maybe she’s rethinking that now…

I love you Katherine Ann!  And I’m very proud of you!

  1. Vicki — it’s always sew much fun to convert those non-sewers to the right side of the table! Congrats Katherine Ann — welcome aboard!

    The creativity is endless!
