Lots of Sewing…Not Much Sharing

I’ve been a busy little bee all weekend.  I didn’t even take time to stop and do a little blogging.  For that I apologize.  However….I can’t really share what I’ve been doing.  At least not yet.  But, I do have some sneak peeks because I know you all love it when I do that to you.

Before I share a few pictures I wanted to let you all know our first Frugal Friday was a huge success.  I’ve created a cute little button and added it to our side bar.  Feel free to grab one if you’d like.  I can’t decide if we should do it at the same time every Friday or switch it up each week.  I can see advantages to both.  What do you all think?

First up is the block I’ve been working on for the Glorious Autumn  Block Party.  You should check the Block Party out if you haven’t.  There are lots of great blocks!

After much contemplation I finally decided on a design.  I was shocked to discover that I only have autumn colored batiks.  But that works for me because I have a secret love of batiks.  These are the colors I’ve chosen…

I still have to do all the applique work but I’m close to having it finished.  Then it will be time to write up the directions.  Hopefully that won’t be too hard.

The other project I’ve been sweating over is my Cuzco quilt.  I finally have the top completely put together and ready to quilt.  Unfortunately, I have a quilt loaded that’s patiently waiting on me to quilt it.  I guess I better get that done so I can get this one finished.  I’m dying to show pictures of the finished quilt!

Are you all sick of the little tiny peeks yet?  I hope not.  I’m pretty proud of this one.  I had a vision and I was able to translate it into fabric.  Can’t wait to finish it and share!

I think that’s about it for tonight because I stupidly signed up to participate in a community garage sale this Saturday which means I should be sorting through “stuff” right now.  Grrr…what was I thinking?  I hate prepping for garage sales.  I told Jake {8} to go through his toys and make a pile of what he would like to sell.  Big mistake.  His pile consisted of 5 cars.  Oh boy.  I guess I’ll be doing the weeding out in his room.
