Finally Made it to Missouri

After 12.5 loooong hours the kids and I finally made it to Missouri to see mom and Gene.  I thought the trip would be uneventful but I was wrong.  My youngest has suddenly developed car sickness.  Oh the joys of motherhood.

I think we made it about two hours down the road before he got sick.  There’s nothing like pulling over on the interstate and yanking an 8 year old out of the car.  But he was much better after that little episode and I kept pumping him with gatorade just to make sure.

I have to share some pictures with you all so you can see just how much a little VW Jetta can hold!

The backseat…

The trunk…
It was like riding in a clown car.  We had a 20″ bike, two suitcases, two laptop bags, 6 finished quilts, a model airplane, a cooler, an AccuQuilt, an AccuQuilt Go Baby, two pillows, two backpacks, over 10 yards of fabric, a bag full of Moda precuts, bags of snacks, and let’s not forget 3 humans!  And amazingly enough, I could even see out the back window!
Tomorrow I hope to share pictures of the quilt I finished for Gene.  I surprised him with it tonight.
I’m off to bed to try to get some sleep.  Maybe mom and I can get a little sewing in tomorrow.

Connie (Quilting by the River)emailed me last evening to say I had won the Batik giveaway. I want to thank you for sponsoring. I surely was shocked that I won! Can’t wait to make something from those gorgeous fabrics. They are such great colors, too.
