A Little Shameless Begging

I’m sure by now you’ve noticed the link on the sidebar for voting.  That’s the reason I was in a hurry to get my no name appliqué quilt finished.  I wanted to enter it in the McCall’s Quilt Design Star Competition.  And, in case you didn’t notice, her name is officially Texas Teardrops.

Mom also entered a very special quilt.  She calls it Inspiration.  It’s special because Gene did all the embroidery before he had his stroke and I quilted it for them.  It’s one stunning quilt.  I’m going to have her blog about it one of these days with some close up pictures.  You will love it!

Soooo…here’s where you all come in.  We would appreciate any votes you would like to throw our way.  You can only vote once a day for one quilt from now until May 20th.

I never did post many pictures of the finished Texas Teardrops so I thought I would do that now.  You all are probably sick of this quilt but I can’t help it.  I love it.  I promise to lay off after tonight.  Well maybe after the voting ends.  After all, I did title this post a little shameless begging…

I’m totally loving the backing too.  I used some of the new Jennifer Paganelli Free Spirit fabric that we recently ordered.  The quilting is pretty simple but I’m very happy with it.  I wanted the appliqué to really stand out so I tried to make the quilting blend in.

I started another quilt today and I must be crazy because it’s appliqué too.  I don’t even really like doing appliqué but all these ideas keep coming to me.  Plus I got to try out my new toy, the Olfa Circle Cutter.  Boy oh boy is it cool!  Why did I ever cut circles with scissors???

Here’s a little peek…

I don’t know when I’ll get this one finished.  I ran out of Steam a Seam so I had to order some this afternoon.  Oops…I thought I had more here but I guess I used it all.

Thanks for letting me beg for a couple votes.  We can use all the help we can get.
